Presentations

Based on the book, How Will You Change the World? (Andres & Blanton Publishing), this program will lead children to all seven continents, showing how animals take care of the world around them.  Follow-up activities will reinforce students’ understanding of the continents, the animals that share them with us, the colors of the visible spectrum, and our responsibility and opportunity to take care of our environment.  Each classroom that I visit (along with the school library) will receive a copy of the book, as well as enrichment activities to support the lesson.  Not only will listening, speaking, and visualizing be improved through the interactive storytelling, but I believe that students and teachers will come away inspired and empowered to take care of the beautiful world that we share!

I’ve offered this program to K-4th, and we adapt the focus, depending on the age of the children.  (The younger children talk more about colors, and the older children focus more on the continents.) All of the children get an “Earth Care Promise” form to fill out as they commit to taking care of the world by the way they live.
